From April 26 to April 28, the Liepaja Special Economic Zone Authority CEO Uldis Hmielevskis and the Deputy CEO Elans Strazdins participated in the German-Latvian Port Forum, which took place in Lubeck, where they represented Latvia's largest ports and the transport and logistics industry sector in general. The focus was laid on the challenges and new forms of collaboration in the changing geopolitical circumstances. The Forum was a continuation of the year 2018 event, that took place in Liepaja, and is a result of the Collaboration Agreement, signed between the Liepaja SEZ Authority and the Lubeck Hafen-Gesellschaft GmbH in 2016.

The previous collaboration has been successful - the cargo volumes, shipped on the ferry route Liepaja and Travemunde have grown by three times during the recent years. Germany is Latvia's third largest trading partner, and the Forum was a great opportunity to seek solutions so that to continue mutual collaboration and build sustainable collaboration platform for the future.
