In twelve months, companies in the Port of Liepaja handled 4 838 299.76 tons of different type of cargoes, including:

Cargo turnover decreased by 35% if compared to year 2012, but stayed in the level of year 2011.
Dry bulk cargoes
As traditional, main segment reminded dry bulk cargoes - 2 793.4 thousand tons or 58% from the total cargo turnover. Main cargo groups in dry bulk cargo segment- grain and cereal products, followed by building materials, wood chips and coke slack.
For many years the main cargo group in this segment reminds RO-RO cargoes, this year’s result – 690.7 thousand tons, secured from regular ferry line traffic. Second biggest group in this segment – timber – 519.5 thousand tons. In 2013, significantly decreased black metal and scrap metal cargos, due to the lack of Jsc. „Liepājas metalurgs” business activities, due to this, the total cargo turnover decreased by ~10%.
In 2013, the turnover of liquid cargoes was 406.0 thous. tons or 8% of the total cargo turnover.
