Decisions Adopted by the Liepaja SEZ Board
On 8 October 2025, a regular meeting of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (Liepaja SEZ) Board took place. During the meeting, the Board decided to grant the status of a Liepāja SEZ capital company to SIA “AI industri bygg”, approved three investment projects by Liepaja SEZ companies with a total value of EUR 1 million, reviewed and approved the conclusion of nine contracts for the provision of mooring services in the Port of Liepaja, as well as approved auction results and adopted several decisions concerning property, leases, and reservation rights.
Granting of Liepaja SEZ Company Status
The Liepaja Special Economic Zone Board reviewed the application and submitted documents from SIA “AI industri bygg” requesting the status of a Liepaja SEZ company and approved it.
SIA “AI industri bygg” is a Latvian-owned company that, in 2024, purchased a property at 3 Grīzupes Street, Liepaja, with the aim of revitalizing a degraded area and developing a business and manufacturing center. Previously, the site was used as a gas filling station owned by Latvijas Propāna Gāze.
On the Implementation of Investment Projects
The Liepaja SEZ Board reviewed and approved three investment projects by Liepaja SEZ companies with a total value of EUR 988,237.04:
- SIA “AI industri bygg” plans to implement the investment project “Renovation of Building Facade” at 3 Grīzupes Street, Liepaja. The planned investment will be completed by 31 December 2026, with a total value of EUR 473,237.04.
- The Liepaja SEZ company SIA LSEZ “RT Metāls” plans to implement the investment project “Purchase of Hydraulic Bending Press”, to be completed by 31 March 2026, with a total value of EUR 315,000.00.
- Caljan LSEZ SIA company plans to implement the investment project “Integration of Robotic Welding Technology into Company Production”, to be completed by 31 January 2026, with a total value of EUR 200,000.00.
On Auction Results
Continuing the development of the Liepaja Industrial Park and promoting business activity, the Liepaja SEZ Authority has offered several real estate properties for auction. The Board reviewed and approved the auction results for the property at 94 Brīvības Street, Liepaja, determining that the highest bid was submitted by SIA “Nordic Steel Latvia”.
Meanwhile, the auction for the property at 98 Brīvības Street, Liepaja, concluded without a result, and the Board decided to organize a new auction.
On Mooring Services in the Port of Liepaja
Five years ago, in order to improve and enhance the efficiency of its operations, the Liepaja SEZ Authority decided to outsource mooring services for vessels. This decision has proven successful. As the terms of the existing contracts with service providers were coming to an end, the Board decided to conclude new agreements. The Board reviewed and approved signing of new contracts for the provision of mooring services in the Port of Liepaja with nine companies.
