Invitation to visit the exhibition “Made in Liepaja”
From January 31 to February 1, the exhibition “Made in Liepaja” will be held at the Liepaja Olympic Center. At more than 180 stands the visitors will be able to get acquainted with the diverse business environment in Liepaja and the neighborhood.
Alongside with the exhibition, the visitors may participate at conference where experts will discuss the challenges of the economic development in Latvia and Liepaja. The exhibition is free for visitors, aiming also at school and university students to learn about future job opportunities in Liepaja.
At 11:00, the exhibition and conference “Made in Liepaja” will be opened by the Mayor of Liepaja Gunārs Ansiņš, and the Minister of Economics, Viktors Valainis.
At 11.10, Daunis Auers, Professor at the University of Latvia and Chairman of the “Latvian Institute for Strategy and Economic Solutions” (LaSER) think-tank, will speak about Latvia’s development scenarios and the economy of Latvia’s regions;
At 11.40, the entrepreneur and architect Uldis Pīlēns will share his experience and inspiration story.
From 13.00 to 15.15, a panel discussion on Liepaja’s economy and future development opportunities will take place in the Tango Hall: “Status quo of Liepaja’s economy – from post-Soviet decline to the largest regional production center” and “What will Liepaja’s economy be like in 2040?”.
At 14.30, the seminar “Digitalization in the company: Experience stories and opportunities”
At 15.15 – the seminar-masterclass for entrepreneurs “Innovative thinking in entrepreneurship”, led by Elīna Miķelsone, Doctor of Science, lecturer on innovation and idea management.
At the Liepaja SEZ Authority stand, there will be an opportunity to get information on the local industrial parks and the companies operating there, as well as to learn more about the challenges of Liepaja’s future industrial development.
This year, the first streets will be built in Liepaja Industrial Park – on the territory of the former steel plant “Liepajas Metalurgs”, and the visitors at the exhibition will be invited to provide their ideas and suggestions for new street names.
