Liepaja Industrial Park Named Among the World’s Top 10 Most Attractive Industrial and Logistics Investment Projects
The latest edition of Real FDI ongoing publication series highlighting the most attractive investment projects across regions and sectors has revealed its 2026 Top 10. In today’s increasingly competitive investment landscape, locations that can offer not only land, but also modern infrastructure, energy security, logistics connectivity and an ecosystem suited to advanced manufacturing are becoming increasingly attractive to investors. The Liepaja Industrial Park has been recognized as one of the most promising projects in Europe and included in the Top 10.
The projects selected by Real FDI reflect the diversity and scale of today’s investment opportunities. They range from major ports and established industrial districts to brownfield regeneration projects and airport-linked logistics hubs. As noted by Real FDI, these projects demonstrate how connectivity, infrastructure, available land and increasingly sophisticated industrial ecosystems are shaping the next generation of investment destinations. “Countries are no longer competing solely to attract investment, but also on their ability to provide investors with the industrial infrastructure they need.”
Real FDI has highlighted 10 of the world’s most promising industrial and logistics investment projects. Located across a range of countries, the projects showcase different development models – from major industrial centers in Germany and Spain to emerging logistics hubs in Iceland, Romania, Latvia, the United Kingdom and Mexico.
Attention is given to the Liepaja Industrial Park, whose “DNA” is built around a sustainable approach, with education, innovation and circular economy principles clearly embedded in its development concept. The former Liepajas Metalurgs (steelworks) industrial site is gradually being reintegrated into the city, opening it up to the public while making it increasingly attractive to investors.
The Liepaja Industrial Park is being developed by the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (LSEZ) Authority and the Liepaja City Municipality. The site borders Lake Liepaja, a specially protected nature area within the NATURA 2000 network.
According to the approved development strategy, the project aims to attract more than EUR 275 million in private investment and create at least 1,500 new jobs.
