Liepaja is visited by the Secretary General of the Baltic Ports Organization, Bogdan Oldakowski

During the one-day work visit Mr. Bogdan Oldakowski met with the Liepaja SEZ CEO Uldis Hmielevskis, got an insight on the already accomplished infrastructure projects in the Port of Liepaja and was introduced on the upcoming large-scale projects as well as had a brief tour to the Port of Liepaja.

The Baltic Ports Organization (Baltic Ports Organization) unites the ports of eight countries, in which Liepāja is also represented. The purpose of the organization is to create an economically, socially, and ecologically sustainable development of the maritime transport and port industry in the Baltic Sea region, as well as to promote port cooperation.

The Baltic Ports Organization was founded in 1991 in Copenhagen and is a regional port organization that supports its members by cooperating with other partners in the Baltic Sea region. Currently, the organization unites 49 members from Scandinavia, Germany, Poland, and the Baltics, including the three largest ports in Latvia.

The Baltic Ports Organization is a regional ports organization inspiring and supporting its members while cooperating pro-actively with relevant partners Development over the past years has proceeded very quickly and at present BPO has entered a new, challenging, and exciting phase. Currently, the organization is comprised of 49 members representing the most significant ports and stakeholders in the Baltic Sea region, including the Port of Liepaja.
