Repeated Auction Announced for Property in the Liepaja Industrial Park

As part of the continued development of the Liepaja Industrial Park on the site of the former Liepajas Metalurgs steelworks, the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (Liepaja SEZ) Authority has announced a repeated auction for the property located at 1 Naglu Street within the Liepaja Industrial Park. This marks the next step in engaging businesses in the regeneration and transformation of the industrial area by offering an opportunity to acquire existing industrial buildings together with the land.

The site of the former Liepajas Metalurgs plant, where the green Liepaja Industrial Park is being developed, is gradually being reintegrated into the urban environment, making it accessible to the public and attractive to investors. The property at 1 Naglu Street, Liepaja, consisting of a building and a land plot with a total area of 15,048 m², has once again been offered for auction.

The auction opens on 19 June 2026 at 13:00 and closes on 20 July 2026 at 13:00. Registration for the auction is open from 19 June 2026 at 13:00 until 9 July 2026 at 23:59 via the electronic auction platform: https://izsoles.ta.gov.lv.

The Liepaja SEZ Authority initially consolidated all properties located within the former Liepajas Metalurgs industrial site, prepared a local spatial development plan in cooperation with the municipality, and constructed the first streets together with the necessary utility infrastructure. The sale of properties through public auctions represents the next stage in involving entrepreneurs in the regeneration and redevelopment of the industrial area by offering existing production buildings with land for acquisition. The objective is to renovate and redevelop these properties in line with the needs of a modern, green economy business environment.

The Liepaja Industrial Park is located within the territory of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone. It is intended as a hub for advanced manufacturing, science and research, logistics centers, and energy-intensive industrial projects. Covering approximately 120 hectares, the development area has been divided into individual plots with development opportunities and access to the necessary engineering infrastructure.

The Liepaja Industrial Park is being developed jointly by the Liepaja SEZ Authority and the Liepaja City Municipality on the site of the former Liepajas Metalurgs plant, bordered by Brīvības Street, Meldru Street, Ezermalas Street, Parka Street, and Zemnieku Street in Liepaja. The site is adjacent to Lake Liepaja, a protected Natura 2000 conservation area. According to the approved development strategy, the project aims to attract more than EUR 275 million in private investment and create at least 1,500 new jobs.
