“Breath of the Sea” Plein-Air Art Exhibition and Competition to Open
Continuing a tradition spanning more than 30 years, the Liepāja Special Economic Zone Authority once again collaborated with artists this year to organise the small-scale plein-air event “Jūras elpa” (“Breath of the Sea”). The artworks created during the event will be exhibited at the Ludviķis Art Salon from 28 August to 10 October as part of an art competition and exhibition, where visitors will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork.
This summer, artist Aivars Kleins invited artists from Liepāja and participants in previous Liepāja plein-air events from other Latvian cities to take part in “Jūras elpa”. According to Kleins, the project aims to revive a 25-year-old tradition of organising competitive exhibitions of sea-themed artworks by Liepāja artists and to promote creative activities.
The opening of the “Jūras elpa” exhibition and art competition will take place on 28 August at 4:00 p.m. in the exhibition hall of the Ludviķis Art Salon, at 3/5 Ludviķa Street, Liepāja.
The exhibition will remain open at the Ludviķis Art Salon until 10 October. Everyone is invited to visit the exhibition and take part in the public vote!
