Celebrate in Style – and Celebrate the Sea Festival on the Water!
For the seventh year in a row, the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Authority invites everyone to celebrate the Sea Festival with the Seafarers' Rowing Competition and the Parade of Ships and Boats. As part of Liepaja’s Sea Festival, the event “Across the City – From the Lake to the Sea” will take place on July 12 in the City Canal near the Liepaja Marina.
Since ancient times, when Liepaja’s traditions in trade, shipping, and industry first began, the lake and the sea—connected by the City Canal—have served as one of the city’s most vital arteries. The port has always been Liepaja’s gateway to the wider world. Cities with ports breathe deeper and dream bigger!
The Liepaja SEZ Authority invites everyone to actively participate in the rowing competition and the parade of ships and boats—or simply to come and enjoy the spectacle. Once again, this year, the public will have special access to the waterfront along the New Port Promenade for the duration of the event. This area is planned to become a public space in the future, just like the Old Port Promenade, where port activities and vessels coexist harmoniously with residents and tourists alike.
