The decisions taken by the Liepaja SEZ Board on April 22

On April 22, 2024, the regular meeting of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone (Liepaja SEZ) Board was held, where five issues related to the conclusion and mortgaging of real estate contracts were considered and supported.

On concluding a long-term land lease agreement
Based on the Purchase Agreement of January 23, 2024 with regard to the warehouse in the Port of Liepaja, the Liepaja SEZ Board reviewed and decided on the termination of the land lease agreement with the previous owner of the building and conclusion of a land lease agreement with the new owner of the building.

On making amendments to the contract on granting building rights
On January 19, 2022, the Liepaja SEZ Authority and SIA EIPU – a company, which is close to completing construction of a drinking water export terminal in the Port of Liepaja - concluded an agreement on granting construction rights to a real estate located in the territory of the Port of Liepaja. After surveying part of the land units, the building site area was specified in a more detailed way.

On the reservation of the land plot lease and/or construction rights
Liepaja SEZ Board reviewed and decided to enter into an agreement on the reservation of the land plot lease and/or building rights with LSEZ SIA “GI Termināls” for 2 years regarding the real estate located in the territory of the Port of Liepaja, as part of the construction intent of “HVO/SAF plant”. LSEZ SIA “GI Termināls” is a multifunctional, modern, high technology company, which provides base, industrial oils, and a wide range of petrochemical
products storage and transshipment.

On concluding a long-term land lease agreement
The Liepaja SEZ Board reviewed and decided to conclude a lease agreement with the joint- stock company “Sadales tīkls” for the real estate Ostas Street 6/8, Liepaja for 30 years. “Sadales tīkls” is part of Latvenergo Group, which is the largest provider of power supply
services in the Baltics. Such a decision by the Liepaja SEZ Board is required to manage and to
maintain the 10 kV distribution point located on the aforementioned land unit.
