The Liepaja Marina closes its active yachting season
November 1 traditionally marks the end of the active yachting season. This year, 243 yachts arrived in the Liepaja Yacht Harbor – 15 yachts more than the previous season. No doubt, the busiest months of the yachting season are in summer– 64 yachts in June, 70 in July and 57 in August.
The majority of guest yachts were from Lithuania, Poland, Germany and Scandinavia, however there were also yachts from such distant countries as Chile, Australia, the USA, the Marshall Islands and New Zealand.
According to the Manager of the Yacht harbor, Karlis Kints, the number of yachts served is higher than the previous year, and yachts often stayed longer than just one night. ‘’It's good, as it means that the yachtsmen like the City of Liepaja. Even though the yacht season is over, it is just a symbolic end - any yacht sailing to Liepaja will still be welcome and served.''
For reference:
The management of the Yacht Harbor was taken over by the Liepaja SEZ Authority in 2015, complete reconstruction of the facilities was finished in 2020.
As before, also in 2024, the Liepaja Yacht Harbor was the only one in Latvia that could proudly bear the symbol of environmental and service quality - the Blue Flag.
