The Liepaja SEZ Authority participates in the largest wind energy industry exhibition and seminar in Europe
09.04.2025.Together with the Latvian Minister for Climate and Energy Kaspars Melnis and the management of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency (LIAA), the Liepaja SEZ CEO Uldis Hmieļevskis and his Advisor on Renewable Energy Projects Jānis Lapiņš attended a three-day conference and exhibition "WindEurope Annual event 2025", in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Bella Center to meet with investors, the wind energy project developers, manufacturers and also the current Liepaja SEZ project partners VanOord and Euroports with whom the Liepaja SEZ Authority continues to develop the project, which was initiated three years ago, i.e. building an offshore wind farm support base and a heavy-lift cargo terminal in the Port of Liepaja.

09.04.2025.“Registration of the auction participants will take place from March 3, 2025 (08.00 a.m.) to May 9, 2025 (16.30 p.m.). The participants of the auction are required to submit their offers in person or by an authorized person to the Liepaja SEZ Authority at 4 Feniksa Street, Liepaja by the deadline for application as specified in the notice of the auction (during the Authority’s office hours from 8.00 to 12.00 and from 12.30 to 16.30) by May 9, 2025. The offers will be opened on May 12, 2025 at 13.00.”

04.04.2025.On March 28, the Liepaja City Construction Board commissioned the new production building of the Liepaja SEZ company Jensen Metal in the Karosta Industrial Park. The new production facility (5,968 m2) has been built next to two already existing Jensen Metal production facilities – both were built in 2019 and 2022, accordingly.

05.03.2025.The technology which is planned for use in the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production plant project in the Port of Liepaja has been developed by the Swedish company “Swedish Biofuels AB”, involving scientists from the Royal Institute of Technology and grant funding from the US military sector.
