On Wednesday, June 26, a time capsule with a message for future generations was embedded in the foundation of the new production plant of LSEZ AS Norplast Piemare - an EnTEC Group company with Norwegian capital. The Liepaja Special Economic Zone Joint Stock Company "Norplast Piemare" specializes in the production of large composite products for the oil extraction industry and in the production, installation and shipment of floating closed fish cage systems from its own terminal in the Port of Liepaja.

On June 18, 2024, the regular Liepaja Special Economic Zone (Liepaja SEZ) Board Meeting took place, where certain agenda items were considered and decisions made, as well as reviewed the informational reports on the Liepaja SEZ operations and planned development projects.

On June 19, the "Golden Field Factory LV" company protein production facility, was solemnly opened in the Karosta Industrial Park. With the establishment of the "Golden Field Factory LV" production facility, the agri-food staff industry has returned to Liepaja and the first ever investments from the United Arab Emirates and the United States have arrived in Liepaja in the amount of 16 million euros.

On June 12 and 13, with the support of the Liepaja SEZ Authority and the Harbor Master’s Office of the Port of Liepaja, the Latvian company “Aerones” completed testing a special robotic device designed to control the grounding of wind generators on the water prior to delivery to the North Sea.

LSEZ SIA "Dan Store Latvia" is one of the first companies in the Port of Liepaja after withdrawal of the Soviet Navy. With the establishment of the Liepaja Special Economic Zone, it transformed from just a cargo owner into a port terminal with large warehouse facilities and is now one of the largest dry bulk handling and storage terminals in the Port of Liepaja. In 2023, the company was operating with 6.7 million EUR turnover.

By construction of protective barriers at Oskars Kalpaks swing bridge in the Karosta Canal of the Port of Liepaja, the Liepaja SEZ Authority has completed implementation of the last component of the EU Cohesion Fund Project No. 6.1.1.0/17/I/004 " Renovation of the Karosta Canal and the Northern Gate Hydrotechnical Structures". Within the framework of the project, safe navigation has been substantially improved at the Northern Gate of the Port, the breakwaters of the Karosta Canal have been restored, Berth 1 has been dismantled and lighting has been installed in the Karosta Canal. By implementing the project, the goal of the project to improve navigation safety in the Karosta Canal has been achieved.
